Goodwood lexus

Lexus will bring a raft of high-performance cars to this week's Goodwood Festival of Speed, a British event that celebrates motorsport history.

The high-profile showcase will be led by the new flagship Lexus LC luxury coupe, which went on sale in Australia earlier this month.

The all new model, acclaimed by critics as an international design sensation, will take part in demonstration runs up the famous hill course in the festival's "First Glance" program for forthcoming prestige cars.

The V8-powered LC 500 will be in action on the hill while the Lexus stand will also feature the LC 500h petrol-electric hybrid, the first car to be equipped with the revolutionary new Lexus Multi Stage Hybrid System.

The cars are fitted with 21-inch forged alloy wheels and the advanced handling of four-wheel steering, variable gear ratio steering and a limited slip differential.*

Lexus is a principal sponsor of this year's festival and, in keeping with the event's celebration of sporting performance and style, its static display will also feature F Sport versions of its RX and NX SUV models plus the RC F performance coupe.

The RC F has also been enjoying a successful first season as a full-blooded racer in international GT competition.

A taste of its winning form will be provided by a brace of new GT3-specification cars taking part in the timed runs on the Goodwood hillclimb.

The cars will be standard-bearers for the RC F's participation in top-level IMSA sportscar racing in North America and in Europe's premier endurance racing series.

Crowds, expected to be in excess of 200,000 over the festival weekend, will also witness a welcome Goodwood return for the Lexus LFA in the Supercar Shoot-out.
